Virginia was born on October 26, 1944, in Burneyville, OK to Milton Bynum and Audrey Elizabeth (Powell) Oliphant. She passed from this life peacefully at her Marietta residence on Tuesday, November 16.

Virginia had numerous hobbies, including working in the garden, reading, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, but her favorite activity of all was spending time with her grandchildren. When she was able to, she had attended the Worldwide Church of God in Sherman, TX. She married the love her life, Herman Dale Bruce, on December 28, 1962, in Love County.

He preceded her in death on February 17, 2019.

Virginia is survived by four children, son Buddy Bruce of Loves Valley; daughters, Betty Jean Ramsey of Gainesville, TX, Gracie Lee Thames of Fort Worth, TX, and Robin Joanna Deck and husband Gene of Oklahoma City, OK; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Garrison and husband Ralph of Gainesville, TX, and Dorothy Cross of Marietta, OK.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, George Bruce; great-granddaughter, Jesse Ramsey; brothers, Milton Oliphant, James Oliphant, Auston Oliphant and Byron Oliphant; and a sister, Ellen Wade.
 
Serving as casket bearers are Kevin Glenn, Justin Glenn, Cameron Williams, Caleb Deck, Jason Ramsey, and Royce Sharp. Honorary casket bearers are Brandon Deck, Colby Deck and Korbin Glenn.
