Graveside services for Rachel Rebecca (Gentry) Henderson, a resident of Coalgate, will be held today, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenville Cemetery, Love County, OK with Rev. Bob Graham officiating and arrangements under of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Rachel was born December 13, 1924 in Terrel, OK to Eddy Ray and Nora Catherine (Powell) Gentry and passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Coalgate, OK at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 7 days. She attended Greenville schools. Rachel married Calvin Marion Henderson on October 22, 1942 in Borger, TX and was a homemaker and a member of the Olney Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Cal Henderson of Coalgate; daughters, Marilyn Chandler and husband Tom of Burleson, TX, Merna Gilcrease of Ft. Worth, TX, Brenda Smith of Ft. Worth, TX and Carol Yeager of Trophy Club, TX; son, Clay Henderson and wife Myrna of Pagosa Springs, CO; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Nan King of Ardmore, OK, Lorraine Gentry of Anadarko, OK and Lindel Barthel of Houston, TX; brother, Doyle Gentry and wife Jean of Ardmore, OK; along with numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddy Ray and Nora Catherine (Powell) Gentry; sons, Jerry Henderson and Cal Henderson; sisters, Grace Hignight, Orpha Lee Sanders; and brothers, Arch Gentry, Shorty Gentry, Boucher Gentry and Earl Gentry.
Casketbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Yeager, Clint Yeager, Kyle Smith, Matthew Yeager, Shane Henderson and Scott Henderson.
Honorary bearers wil be Ron Hampton, Rosa Barrone, Ralph Barrone and all great and great-great grandchildren.
Family night was Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m.
