Services for Thomas Elvin Stradley, 81, of Overbrook were held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 14 in the Eastman Baptist Church, Eastman community with Rev. Ryan Redwine officiating.

Interment followed in the Eastman Cemetery.

Born August 18, 1930, in Snyder; the son of William and Onita Hopkins Stradley, he died Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at his residence in Healdton.

Mr. Stradley had been a resident of Love County most of his life, previously making his home in California. He and Betty Francis Seely were married August 10, 1954, in Garber, and she preceded him in death on April 14, 2004.

A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Stradley served with the Military Police in the U.S. Army. He then was employed as a tool pusher for many years with Chesapeake and United Drilling companies, retiring as a drilling consultant. Mr. Stradley liked to fish, hunt dove and quail, rob wild bee hives and collect petrified wood. He also enjoyed gardening, especially raising okra and watermelon. He was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Vicky Stradley.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Leslie Stradley of Healdton; two daughters, Terrinda Stewart of Oklahoma City and Torree LaFevers of Sherman, Texas; six grandchildren, Amber Dawn, Erin Victoria, Erica Danielle, Darrian Nicole, Nicholas Scott and Madison Nicole; and several great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were church family and friends. Honorary bearers were Ken Black, Don Stewart, Wayne Byrd and Don Musser.
