Clifford Eugene "Gene" Montgomery of the Marsden community was born September 26, 1929, at Enville, OK, the son of William Millard "Bill" and Elsie Lou Willis Montgomery.

He passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in Southbrook Healthcare, Ardmore, OK, at the age of 81.

He had been a resident of Love County most of his life where he was a farmer and rancher for many years helping his dad and brother, Harold Dean Montgomery, on the farm. 
 
A very hard-working man, Gene always drove the only tractor that didn't have a cab or shade. . . and never complained. He never met a stranger, was always friendly and loved by all who knew him. Gene became a Christian at a young age and was always requesting prayer for others. He was a member of the Abundant Life Worship Center in Ardmore.
 
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Charles G. Montgomery and Harold Dean Montgomery; niece, Sheryl Harris; nephew, Greg Montgomery; brother-in-law, Thurman H. Ward; and great-great-nephew, Dakota Bartling.

He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll W. and Lorene Montgomery of Marietta and Randy and Sue Montgomery of Mannsville, OK; two sisters and brother-in-law, Billie Ward of Sivells Bend, TX and Jane and Harold Willingham of Marsden; two uncles, L.D. Meeks and Calvin Montgomery, both of Marietta; two aunts, Margie Langford of Ardmore and May Willis of Wichita Falls, TX; sister-in-law, Carlene Montgomery Kretzschmar and husband, Sam of Lewisville, TX; special friend, Cookie Montgomery of Ardmore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. 
 
Serving as bearers will be J.P. Hockersmith, Ronnie E. Peoples, Jarron Peoples, Sam Harris, Jeff Willingham, Greg Parker, William Mark Montgomery and Jackie Carter. Honorary bearers are Calvin Montgomery, Martin Willingham, Burl Bone, Arlie Louis Willis, Ben Willis, Jerry Montgomery, Don Jackson and Harold Dean Willingham.
