Born January 19, 1945 in Love County, the daughter of Loma and Lola B. McKenzie Willis, she died Monday, April 24, 2017 in Mercy Hospital Ada. Ella B. was a lifelong resident of Love County. She and Elmer Jr. Toles were married June 15, 1960. Ella was a faithful member of the Nazarene Baptist Church and was very involved in all church activities, singing in the choir as well as being a member of the quartet. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Milo where she and her husband, Reverend Toles, pastored for more than 42 years. Ella also enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was highly regarded as the foundation of the family. Ella was a very supportive mother and grandmother who taught her children to be strong and independent. She enjoyed caring for her family and always insisted that she host Thanksgiving in her home. Ella also enjoyed volunteering at the food pantry, playing bingo, cooking, traveling, and watching her grandchildren play sports. In addition, she was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Mercy Health Love County and also worked diligently as part of the Dunbar Cemetery group. One of the events she looked forward to taking part in each year was “Bevo Bash” during the OU/Texas weekend. Always full of fun, she will be remembered for her infectious laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Johnny Toles; and four brothers, Raymond Willis, Eloma Willis, M.C. Willis, and Connie Rex Willis.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Reverend Elmer Jr. Toles of the home; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Stacy Toles of Ardmore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Michael Mansfield of Oklahoma City, Anita and Anthony Johnson of Marietta, and Cynthia Toles of Midwest City; two brothers and sister-in-law, Michael and Dorothy Willis of Marietta and Willie Rex Willis of Ardmore; two sisters, Veller Kee Howell and Lacy Willis-Halstied of California; 10 grandchildren, Latoya, Bryan, Amber, Krista, Breanna, Quanesha, Alexus, Kenya, Macy, and Raymont; and seven great-grandchildren, Kiyah, Kali Jackson Deandre’, Josiah, Myah, and LaRayah.
