Dibrell Cemetery

Love County, Oklahoma

Submitted by: Bill Hamm

Mr. Hamm surveyed this cemetery in 2003.
DIBRELL is a cemetery south of Leon about two miles. From a previous survey it is said that the Dibrell cemetery was started beford the Civil War by Ike Cloud. It is located just west of the Cloud Trail near where the trail crossed th Red River. Ike was killed during the Civil War and his wife died a short time later. After their deaths, the Cloud Ranch was taken over by Mrs. Cloud's brothers, Jim Bill and Joe Dibrell. The cemetery that Ike Cloud started then became known as the Dibrell Cemetery. They say that at one time there were at least a 100 graves in this cemetery, now it is almost completely gone. It is located in 2W, 8S, Section 19
If you have family buried in this cemetery and would like to add their information, an obit, tombstone photo, funeral home record or memorial card to this website please send the area coordinator an email.
