Interment followed in the Crow Cemetery.
Born February 26, 1936 at Oscar, the son of Charles and Lennie Strickland Romines, he died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. Mr. Romines had been a resident of Love County most of his life. He and Wilma Jean Patty were married January 25, 1958 in Gainesville, Texas, and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2009. Mr. Romines served in the United States Air Force and was a farmer and over-the-road truck driver. Jimmie enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and working puzzle books, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Brushy Mound Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and several sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Evelyn Romines of the Shady Dale Community; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Marcus Canales of Orr; a grandson, Jason Canales; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis Romines, Colton Lyles, Autumn Canales, Elizabeth Smith and William Brody Canales.
Serving as bearers were Jason Canales, Shane Patty, Billy Hacker, Billy Don Hacker, Kelly Hartman and Chuck Hartman. Honorary bearers were Sonny Hartman, Johnny Lee Hartman, Larry Hartman, Larry Graham, Mike Parker and the staff of Lake Country Nursing Center.
