Carolyn Sue French, 70, of Overbrook, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at SSM Health Saint Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City.

Her journey in life began in Whitesville, Kentucky, on June 6, 1951, the daughter of Elmer O. and Vena Lee Roach Gilbert. Carolyn attended schools in Kentucky and continued her education at Chisholm Trail Technology Center earning an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) certification.
 
Carolyn met the love of her life, Ray French, at a church Halloween party when she was 13 and they began dating the following year. Two years later on June 9, 1967, they were married.
Carolyn was a kind and caring woman. She worked as an LPN at Pecan Tree Manor, Gainesville, Texas, Elmbrook Nursing Home, Ardmore, and the Wilson Nursing Center. Carolyn was an active member of Eastman Baptist Church. She loved sewing, watching her grandchildren's ballgames and spending time with her family.
 
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Ann French; sister, Doris Ann Gilbert; and brother, Leroy Gilbert.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Ray French of the home; daughters, Gina Miller and husband Richard of Thomas and Kara Cavitt and husband Randall of Pike; brother, James Gilbert and wife Edna of Indian Lake Estates, Florida; sisters, Jane Fuqua and husband Leon of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Cathie Hodskins and husband Joey of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kayla Moore and husband Arron, Hope Rennels and husband Connor, Josey Cavitt, and Jake Cavitt; and great-grandchildren, Alex Moore, Jaxon Moore, Olivia Rennels, and Raylon Rennels.

Services to celebrate Carolyn's life were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at the Eastman Baptist Church with Mike Johnston officiating and Brother Brandon Twyford assisting.

Interment followed at the Burneyville Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Randall Cavitt, Richard Miller, Arron Moore, Connor Rennels, Jake Cavitt, and Alex Moore.
