Born September 17, 1907, at Pike, Indian Territory, Mr. Cavitt died August 13, 1991, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. He was the son of Joe and Ragner Bellah Cavitt. Mr. Cavitt had lived in Love County most of his life and was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He married Addie Hilton April 29, 1933, in Marietta. A World War II veteran, Mr. Cavitt served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Addie Cavitt of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Marilyn Cavitt of Marietta and Lonnie and Barbara Cavitt of Pike; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Fred Grice of Marietta; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cavitt was preceded in death by two sons, James W. Cavitt in 1986 and Kenneth Cavitt in 1982.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Burneyville Cemetery. Grandsons served as casket bearers.
