LORENZ "JOE" JOHNSON

The funeral for Lorenz "Joe" Johnson, 69, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at First Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Alfred Baldwin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery , Crescent . Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Enid.

He was born March 23, 1940, in Dover to Annie Mae Johnson and Joe Fuston and died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Highland Park Manor.

He grew up on the family farm and attended Booker T. Washington Elementary and High School, where he graduated.

He later joined the Army.

He was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church, Dover.

He worked many years as a cook. He also worked 30 years in construction.

Surviving are his mother, Annie Mae Phillips of Enid; eight children, Yvette "Fran" Davis of Enid, Felicia Lynn Johnson of Edmond, Lorina Johnson of Cleveland, Denise Berryman of Oklahoma City, Peggy Patrick of McKinney, Texas, Jeannie Nave of Bartlesville, Joseph Louis of McAlester and Mary Simon of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Rose Williams, Sheron Howard and Marsha Phillips, all of Enid, and Adlene Fuston of Dover; one brother, Bryan Fuston of Kingfisher; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
