Funeral services for John Calvin Williams, 76, of Guthrie, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen of Companion Hospice officiating. Interment will follow Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
John was born on September 11, 1934 in Guthrie to James Millard and Viola Sylvia (Fowler) Williams. He passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 in Guthrie.
John lived in Guthrie all his life. He had worked at Oklahoma Furniture Factory, Kerr McGee filling station, and Logan County District 2 until he retired, December 31, 1996.
He is survived by his wife Norma of the home; one son David Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter Karla Beatty and husband Greg of Edmond, OK; one sister Vivian Robinette and husband Richard of Guthrie; and five grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Companion Hospice, 1314 East Oklahoma Avenue, Guthrie, OK 73044 or American Diabetes Association, 3000 United Founders Boulevard, Suite 108, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
