Funeral services for Roy Edward Wileman, Sr. age 83 of Guthrie, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Smith Memorial Chapel, Guthrie with Pastor Bill Williams, of Community Church, Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, OK. directed by Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Roy was born October 15, 1925 at Pleasant Valley, OK to John Sanford and Lula (Beck) Wileman. He died June 2, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Roy served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict earning 2 Bronze Stars for his service. He was a retired Chief of Police in Crescent, OK. and he had owned the Guthrie Bus Station and City Cab Co. He also served as a Logan County Deputy Sheriff, and worked as a tile setter. He enjoyed and loved being with his domino friends.
Roy is survived by his two sons: Ronnie Wileman, Belview, MO. and Roy Wileman, Jr., Guthrie, six daughters: Sheila Buhr and husband Bob, Goodwell, OK., Linda Tatom, Guthrie, Jacqualine Lane and husband Dexter, Luther, OK., Rowena Pryor-Kemp and husband, Roy, Edmond, OK., Kathy Goad and husband, Jody, Guthrie, and Sandra Wileman, Midwest City, OK. and one aunt, Emma Borrson, Guthrie, 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie in 2004; step-son Clayton Farley, two granddaughters, Jami Goad and Sommer Wileman, both parents, and one sister, Ruth Smith-Lorenzen.
Friends may call at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. and Friday until 1:00 p.m.
