Charles Lyle Sutton
(December 12, 1935 - June 23, 2013)

Charles Lyle Sutton passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years. He was born to Lyle and Eloise Sutton in Guthrie, Oklahoma on December 12, 1935.

Charles graduated from Guthrie High School in 1953. In high school he was admired as an accomplished artist. He then graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors in Business. Charles was a well respected house painter, a skill he learned from his father. He was a member of the Guthrie Masonic Lodge. He began his love for the Masonic organizations during his teenage years as a member of Trinity DeMolay Chapter. He was raised as a Master Mason into Albert Pike Lodge on May 6, 1957 and to Guthrie Scottish Rite on May 28, 1957.

In January 1991 he became an Advisory Board member and Assistant Rainbow Dad for Guthrie Assembly #22 and International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in January 1992. Charles was installed as Guthrie Assembly’s Rainbow Dad, a position he held throughout the rest of his life. He loved Rainbow Girls and the girls loved Charles. He always had such a soft heart with his girls and worked hard to make sure he knew everyone by their name.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Evelyn Ann. Survivors include, his daughter, Linda Sutton and granddaughters, Addison Butler and Laken Roberts.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Guthrie First Christian Church with Dr. Dennis Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
