Rachel Stephenson, 88, passed away September 16, 2015, following a long battle with cancer. She was born December 20, 1926, in Mulhall, Oklahoma to Anna Matilda and James Hercules Rundell.
Rachel lived in Mulhall, Oklahoma, in the house she was born in, for the entire 88 years of her life. She was married to the love of her life, Perry Stephenson, for 60 years until his passing on October 12, 2005. Rachel earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from Phillips University in Enid. Active in the Mulhall United Methodist Church, she loved her community and friends. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Throughout her life, she gladly sacrificed personal pleasures to provide a better life for her family. She was a special person that will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret England and Alma Lasater, and husband Perry Stephenson.
She is survived by two children, Kent Stephenson of Perry and Brent Stephenson of Mulhall, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of other loved family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Mulhall United Methodist Church with Pastor Adrian Pollard officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Sunday 2:00PM - 8:00PM.
