Funeral services for Carl D. Smith, 59, of Guthrie, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Community Church with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Carl was born on April 13, 1951 in Modesto, CA to Carl Franklin and Clara Pearl (Parker) Smith. He passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Guthrie.
Carl was a truck driver most of his life. He loved music, playing his guitar, singing, and jamming with his many friends. Carl’s mother remarried in 1969 to Henson Claude Gordon.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn of the home; mother and step-father Clara and Henson Gordon of Modesto, CA; three sons Mark Riffey (Laci) of Sallisaw, OK, Michael Smith of Oregon, and Emmett Smith of Ada, OK; two daughters Tisha Glover of Oregon and Celeste Smith of Ada; step-son John Mefferd (Carrie) of Guthrie; three step-daughters Dorothy Crowder (Jeff) of Greenwood, AR, Sydnye Steen of Oklahoma City, OK, and Julia Norton of Guthrie; one brother John Smith (Dee) of Ardmore, OK; three sisters Rosalee Jeffers (Allen) of Tulsa, OK, Donna Sue Kissee of Monett, MO, and Kimberly Ann Smith of Modesto, CA; step-mother Rosabess Smith of Okmulgee, OK; six step-brothers; four step-sisters; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and one daughter Laura.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
