Funeral services for Susan Aliceselecta Simpson, 96, of Guthrie, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec 9, at Davis Funeral Chapel. Pastor Gene Warfel will officiate. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery, directed by Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simpson was born on May 8, 1892, at Etawah, OK to Newton and Cornelis Wallace, and died Dec. 6, 1988 at Golden Age Nursing Home. She was raised in a log cabin southeast of Norman, the log cabin is now in the Stovall Museum in Norman.
She was a member of the Christian Church and had lived in Guthrie since 1979.
She married Charles Emery Simpson on Sept. 19, 1909.
She is survived by two sons, Wallace Simpson of Guthrie, and J.T. Simpson of San Clemente, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Orval (Edith) Bartram and Mrs. Bill (Kathryn) Harris both of Mulhall; and Erma Arnett of Coyle; 23 grandchildren and a number of great-grand-children and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.
