Funeral services for Dale "Tuffy" Nelson, 74, of Guthrie will be held at Community Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Jim Hylton of Community Church of Guthrie officiating. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie directed by Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie.
Dale was born on March 23, 1929 in Guthrie, OK to Leonard and Maude Nelson. He died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Logan Hospital & Medical Center in Guthrie, OK.
He is preceeded in death by his father and mother, Lynn and Maude Nelson, brother, Melvin Nelson, sister, Noirene Nelson, and his nephew, Phil Nelson.
Survivors of his home include his wife of fifty-two years, Carol Nelson, daughter, Ann Tisher, sons, Gary Dale Nelson and Mark Nelson, grandchildren, Courtney Daves, Kristal Nelson, Zachory Nelson, and Kathryn Tisher.
He worked in the oilfields all over Oklahoma. Since his retirement he helped at their dress shop, Carol Anns, and was a member of all the coffee clubs every hour at Mark's Drug.
Visitation foir friends and family will be held until 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home.
