Bruce Lee Morgan

Bruce Lee Morgan was born on July 21, 2945, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Carl and Arlene Morgan. He attended Guthrie Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1963. He was active in Boys Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a member of the debate team. He attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with degrees in history and law. He then returned to Guthrie and joined his father in the practice of law.
Bruce was one of the founding members of the Guthrie Arts and Humanities Council and served on the board for a numbers of years. He was also a member of the Lions Club and served as Logan County Chairman of the Republican Party.
Bruce was an avid reader with a life-long interest in history, government and politics. Other interests included golf and extensive travels with his family.
Bruce died at the age of 63 at the Golden Age Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Charles and Marie Gooch and George and Lula Morgan.
He is survived by his sister, Caral Morgan Palley and her husband Kent of Edmond; his niece Dr. Deana Caral Palley of Edmond; nephew David Kent Palley of Austin, Texas; and two great-nephews Duncan Carl Fugitt of and Austin Andrew Fugitt, both of Edmond.
Services will be held on Monday November 10 at 2 p.m. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in Guthrie with interment at Summit View Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Guthrie Arts and Humanities Council or the First Christian Church.
Friends may call the funeral home from1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday. The casket will be opened after the services.
