Arlena Mae Monden, 74, of Guthrie, OK, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Guthrie. She was born April 18, 1941 in Guthrie to Robert and Nora (Moad) Friend.
Arlena was a strong family woman and her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She was a wonderful cook and all holidays must be celebrated at her house. She was a colorful woman and a person that never met a stranger. Arlena was an avid OSU fan and a member of the Red Hatters Club. Sewing was her favorite pastime.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Monden; two brothers, Allen Moad and Marvin Friend; and grandson, Ryan Lee Fulkersin.
Arlena is survived by her children: Carrol Monden, Marla Monden, and Jerene Fulkersin, all of Guthrie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild whose arrival she was awaiting. Also surviving Arlena are her brothers: Robert Friend, Hugh Friend, Robbie Friend, and Manford Friend and her sister, Marla Belding.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Full Gospel Church of God, 424 N. 10th Street, Guthrie. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM
