Viola Marie Momsen

Viola Marie Momsen, 93, died Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2009. She was born February 15, 1916 in Enid, OK to Herbert Edwin and Floy (Jeffries) Johnson. She has lived in Guthrie since 1946.
Viola was known to make the best hot rolls and burnt sugar pies. Viola married Melvin Momsen on April 27, 1934 in Medford, OK. He preceded her in death in 1997. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, son Dariel Momsen, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by two sons Wayman Momsen and wife Peggy and Larry Momsen all of Guthrie; three daughters Lyn Deaton and husband Jim of Edmond, OK, Lorine Biggs, and Velma Edens both of Guthrie; thirteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and three more great-great-grandchildren on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dennis E. Clark of First Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Wednesday until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. The casket will not be open after the services.
