Franklin Lee Moad

Born: May 19, 1933
Died: February 29, 2008

Franklin Lee Moad, 74, died Friday, February 29th at his home in Oklahoma City. He’s survived by a wife of 53 years, Shirley Moad (OKC), and four children: Frankie Moad (Antlers), Pam Griffin (Rush Springs), Cindy Bye (Broken Arrow), and Gary Moad (Yukon). Frank also leaves eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as a legacy for a life well lived. A graduate of Guthrie high school, Frank was drafted into the Navy in 1949. He served four years before coming home to marry Shirley in 1954. Over the years, he worked as plant manager at the Goodyear Tire plant, operations manager at Johnston Food Company and Ben E. Keith before he retired. Frank also leaves two brothers, Donald Moad (OKC) and Charles Moad (Guthrie), and a two sisters, Imogene Biggs (Guthrie) and Wilma Pyle (Elgin). Funeral services were held at Smith Memorial Chapel on March 4, 2008. Burial followed at Summit View Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
