Heavenly greetings were held for Boyd Longnecker on March 19, 2019, as he joined his loving parents, Clyde and Vera Longnecker, his brothers, Floyd, Lloyd and Murel Longnecker, and half-brother, Bobby Gene Owen. Boyd was a triplet born on October 20, 1943 in Clinton, Oklahoma. The Longnecker family lived around the Taloga area in western Oklahoma and moved to Coats, Kansas, in 1952. Boyd graduated from Coats High School in 1962. Boyd served in the Kansas National Guard from 1964 to 1970. Then his family moved to Guthrie and Boyd went to work at Craig Ayres Chevrolet in Edmond as parts manager. In 1979, Boyd went to work at the General Motors Plant in Midwest City and retired in 2006.

Boyd loved seeing 4H and FFA youth working with their show animals and served over 20 years on the Logan County Free Fair Board. He also served on the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department board for a number of years. Boyd and Debbie enjoyed their journeys and adventures with friends who were known as the Road Kill Ramblers, driving their classic cars.

Surviving family members are his wife, Deborah, of the home; son, Billy (Sherri) Longnecker, Guthrie; daughter, Allison Markel, Edmond; stepsons, Michael (Shannon) Nivens and Jason Nivens, both of Guthrie. Seven grandchildren include Kallyn (Drei) Longnecker; Braden Crawford; Kayla Nivens; Ty Longnecker; Garrett Nivens; Harlee Longnecker, all of Guthrie and Briston Fields of Edmond and one great granddaughter, Knoxlyn Longnecker. Sister, Pearl Covey, of Pratt, KS, survives her brother along with sister in law, Nancy Longnecker of Shawnee, OK, and numerous nieces who loved their "Uncle Buck."

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, at First Southern Baptist Church, Guthrie, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Riepe officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, Southwest Affiliate, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125.
