John Patrick Kiernan

John P. Kiernan, age 67, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015 in his home. He was born in Brookhaven, New York to Philomena and Edward Kiernan. John was married to his loving wife Mary Brassard Kiernan on November 30, 1968.
John was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served the United States Army. After his service in the Army, he worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2011. He and Mary moved to Guthrie in 2011 to be near family, Peggy Brassard and Bill/ Cass Brassard, where he met many new friends.
John had complications due to exposure to Agent Orange during Vietnam. He fought his illness with bravery and valor. John was a jokester who loved his country, family and friends. He will be missed greatly.
John is survived by his wife Mary, Frank Raynor and his wife Jenna, 5 grandchildren of Arizona, sister Rosemary Kiernan Chapman and husband Bob, of Arizona and brother Jim Kiernan and wife Joan, of New York as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Philomena Kiernan, father Edward Kiernan and brother Edward Jr. (Butch) Kiernan.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 26, 2015 at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Viewing will be Sunday, January 25th from 2-8 PM
