Walter Alan Ketch

Walter Alan Ketch was born on July 26, 1923 to Dow L. and Hallie (Brown) Ketch in Guthrie, OK.
He married Anna Rae Jones on January 18, 1944. To this union, three children were born. He is survived by two daughters Carol Ann Chriswell and husband Dow of Kerrville, TX and Marilyn Pohl of Leavenworth, KS and one son Ken Ketch of Monte Vista, CO.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Rae on February 10, 1994.
On December 28, 1995, Alan married Clara Gallaway of Mulhall, OK. Along came five step-children Judy Knight and husband Ray of Mulhall, Sharon Wade of Guthrie, Garye Gallaway and wife Kathy of Stillwater, OK, Randy Gallaway and wife Pam of Mulhall, and Marty Gallaway and wife Donna of Perry, OK.
Alan is survived by sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by twelve step-grandchildren, twenty-two step-grandchildren, one sister Margaret "Peggy" Rains of Pauls Valley, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother Dow Ketch, one sister Joanne Shea, and two half-sisters Ruth Chriswell and Bernice Ritterbusch.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII as an aviation machinist and later worked for Terrell Dairy Store, delivering milk, Bond Bread, and U.S. Postal Service, retiring as Superintendent of Mails in Guthrie Post Office.
Those serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric Ketch, Seldom Coe, Will Coe, Eli Pohl, Simon Pohl, Chad Gallaway, Brad Gallaway, Trey Gallaway, Greg Gallaway, Travis Gallaway, David Wade, and Jerry Wade.
Alan was a great husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and step-grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 at Mulhall Christian Church with Pastor Gilbert Forrest and Dr. Dennis Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Memorials may be made to the Mulhall Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 119, Mulhall, OK 73063 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
