Lola Mae Jackson

Lola Jackson passed away June 19, 2009, just one week before her 103rd birthday.
She was born June 26, 1906 in Navina, OK, the fourth child of Fanny and Wes Berg. The farm family raised their six children in the Methodist Church and early pictures show Lola in her basketball uniform.
Lola married Allen Jackson on October 3, 1924 and they had three children. The family lived in Guthrie, Enid, and Blackwell, finally settling in Guthrie in 1941. Lola became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie at that time and has been a member for 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, and daughter, Jeanne. Lola was the last survivor of the six Berg children; Olive, Orville, Myrtle, Ethridge, and Ruby.
Lola is survived by her sons Nolan and Manuel, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She lived in her home alone until the age of 98 before residing at the Golden Age Nursing Home the past five years.
Graveside funeral services will be held, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie with Chaplain Gene Owen of Companion Hospice officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
