Peggy Jo Ann Hood

Peggy Jo Ann Hood went to meet her Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2010. Jo Ann passed at her home east of Guthrie with her family by her side. Jo Ann was born to Gene and Opal Hausner on June 25, 1947 in Drumright, Oklahoma, where she attended high school. Jo Ann moved to Guthrie in April 1970 following her marriage that month to Ralph T. Hood, Jr.
The work of Jo Ann’s life was her 25 years of service as the financial secretary for the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ here in Guthrie. Jo Ann was an avid bridge player, an enthusiastic reader, and a proud mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Ralph, her brothers John Hausner, Allen Hausner and Paul Hausner, her sisters Glenda Fisher and Carol Duvall, her daughter Sandra Hood, her son David Hood and his wife Tara Hood, her grandson Tristan Harrison, her granddaughter Chloe Hood, and the beloved children she helped raise, Ryan and Sarah Rhinehart. Her friends and family will miss Jo Ann’s unselfish and kind spirit that always focused on doing for others.
Services will be held at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 402 East Noble, in Guthrie on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Dennis Clark presiding. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Monday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
