Graveside funeral services for Jack E. Harris, age 77, of Guthrie, OK were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie with Pastor Mike DeMoss of First United Methodist Church officiating. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Jack was born on December 3, 1930 in Perth, KS. He died February 12, 2008 in Guthrie. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service of Ponca City, serving as Postmaster for several years. Jack married Yvonne (Davis) Self in 1969. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Harris of the home, three sons Mike Harris of Edmond, OK, Mark Harris of Dallas, TX, and Darrel Harris of Oklahoma City, OK, one step-daughter Theresa McGavran of Little Rock, AR, one step-son Mike Self of Tulsa, OK, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by one sister and one grandchild.
