Funeral services for Louis Elroy "Roy" Harraman, 84, of Guthrie will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Guthrie. Burial will follow in Summit View Cemetery under the direciton of Smith Funeral Home.
Roy Harraman was born May 23, 1918 near Clarkson Community, north of Coyle, to L. P. and Letticia (Wagoner) Harraman. He died Feb. 27, 2003 in Guthrie.
He lived northeast of Guthrie most of his life. He married Beulah Eagle on Feb. 11, 1939. Roy was the father of three children: Gene Harraman, Freddie Harraman and Jo Ann (Harraman) Meaders. He was a farmer, rancher and mechanic.
Roy will always be affectionately remembered as PaPa. He was always there when someone needed a helping hand and went out of his way to make time for his children and grandchildren. Whether it was a ride on the tractor, baiting a hook, firing up a weenie roast or teaching them how to drive a pickup, he was always there for the kids. Roy will always be loved and missed by his family.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of Guthrie; two sisters, Ethel Meier, of northeast of Guthrie, and Dolly Weber of Stillwater; a brother, Monroe Harraman of Oklahoma City; two sons, Gene Harraman and wife Bertha of Guthrie and Freddie Harraman and wife Candice of Blackwell; one daughter, Jo Ann (Harraman) Meaders and husband David of Lawton; six grandchildren, Julie (Meaders) Delluomo of Oklahoma City, Kenny Harraman of Edmond, Gina (Harraman) Davis of Guthrie, Scott Meaders of Lawton, Jamie (Harraman) Simons of Stillwater and Michael Harraman of Blackwell; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to their father's caregivers at Golden Age Nursing Home and to Mission Hospice.
Visitation for friends and family will take place until 8 p.m. tonight at Smith Funeral Home.
