Barbara "Babs" Mee Gumerson, 82, passed from this earth on April 4, 2018 to return to our heavenly father. She was born March 11, 1936 in Guthrie, OK to Raymond and Mary Eleanor Beyer.

Barbara married the love of her life Jon G Gumerson on August 15, 1956 and celebrated 56 wonderful years before his passing in October of 2012. Barbara talked about all the trips they would take together to Santa Fe, NM and we know they are celebrating in Heaven with being reunited once again.

Barbara was active in Garden Club, Bridge Club, Beta Sigma Phi and President of PEO. Barbara worked for Guthrie Public Schools as a Librarian for many years but her most cherished titles were of Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Barbara never met a stranger and everyone knew her for her vibrant outgoing personality and just love of life. To say that she made a huge impact on people is an understatement, Barbara was bigger than life it's self.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jon G Gumerson, parents Raymond and Mary Eleanor Beyer, her sister Marilyn Anderson and daughter Gina Lynn Gumerson.

She is survived by her children Ginger Hines-Simpson and Diane Simpson and Gregg Gumerson and partner Rikki Metcalf, all of Guthrie, OK; three grandsons, Dustin Porter and wife Wendy, Greg Hines and wife Sara, Corey Hasler and wife Jen; two granddaughters Kayla Simpson and Shanna Williams and husband David; two great-granddaughters, Reese Porter and Avery Hines and two great-grandsons, Jaxson Porter and Rowan Hines. Barbara also leaves behind a host of childhood friends and children that were more like family than friends and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 9, 2018 at First Christian Church. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 2:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to: First Christian Church, 402 East Noble Avenue, Guthrie, OK 73044 or Companion Hospice/Volunteer Department,1314 E. Oklahoma,Guthrie OK 73044
