Ellen D. Goble
Born: April 23, 1929
Died: December 16, 2010
If the love of a family is life’s greatest blessing, then Ellen Dolores Goble had a truly blessed life. Her time on this Earth ended December 16, 2010 but in our hearts she shall live forever. Dolores was born on April 23, 1929 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Claude and Sophia Hilthon. Dolores spent much of her life in Guthrie; working 20 years as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney and in later years providing customer service at IGA and Homeland groceries and Frontier City. She was an active member of the Guthrie Chapter of the Eastern Star. Dolores enjoyed being around people and was often known to strike up a conversation with total strangers just to have a "good visit".
Ellen Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Gene Goble; her parents; son Claude Bruce of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Annabelle Hudson of Ohio and Frances Johnson of Mulhall, Oklahoma; and four brothers, Bobby Hilthon of Texas, and Karl Hilthon, Ronnie Hilthon, and Donnie Hilthon all of Guthrie.
Ellen Dolores is survived by three children; Ron Bruce of Guthrie, Peggy Brown of Choctaw, Janie Jones Hopfer of Knoxville, TN, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two nieces.
Although her memory was taken by Alzheimer’s, Dolores led a very full and active life and she left this earth knowing that she was loved.
