The following notes submitted by Rick Voight:
William Henry Gillman came to Guthrie for the land run and obtained a farm there. He and his family lived there for a few years. My mother always said that their son Harry was the first boy born after the land run on April 22, 1889. Harry was born June 16, 1889. William applied for the land lottery in Kiowa County in 1901 and drew another farmstead there. They lived there until 1913, then moved to N.W. 2nd in Oklahoma City. in 1939, after his wife Mary fell on the cellar stairs and subsequently died a few months later, he left the house to his daughter Elsie O'Connor and her daughter, Elsie Stover and her 2 daughters (my mother and her sister). He moved to the Blanchard area and lived with another daughter, Mary Huron Dunford and her family on their farm. In 1946, William fell and injured himself. Son-in-law, Oscar Dunford was sent to retrieve a doctor. While 'cranking' the car to start it, he suffered a heart attack and died later that day. William died 2 days later and was buried beside Mary in Summit View Cemetery.
