Joe Carrol Foltz
January 28, 1940 - November 14, 2015
Joe Carrol Foltz was born January 28, 1940, the fourth child, and the first son of John Eugene Foltz and Velva Allilee Anthony Foltz, of Guthrie, Oklahoma. He died Saturday, November 14, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
Joe was a graduate of Guthrie Public Schools. He joined the U.S. Army on March 11, 1963, and was discharged on February 28, 1969. He worked as a draftsman while in the Army, and spent most of his military time in Germany and France. He was especially fond of Paris, and sent many postcards of the City of Paris back to family.
Joe's father and mother preceded him in death, as did his older sister, Opal Ellen Cook, and his younger sister, Roberta Kay Foltz. He is survived by his six remaining brothers and sisters: Eloise Marjorie Duckworth of Del City, Lola Belle Hanson of Tahlequah, Donald Roy Foltz of Del City, Johnny Max Foltz of Guthrie, Crissie Summer Foltz of Cleveland, and Karen Ann Lamb of Edmond. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Officiating ministers are Joe's Pastor, Rev. Joe Bartram, and Rev. Daniel Manning, of the family. Pallbearers include Orval Balsiger, Rexie Stalls, Michael Manning, Steven Barlor, Jayson Barlor, and Jeffrey Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Manning and Bill Bartram.
Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home in Guthrie on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at its location at 117 East Noble, Guthrie, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
