Bessie Jane Douglass, age 98 of Guthrie, Oklahoma was born on September 10, 1921 in Cedar Bluff, Kansas to Archie and Laura Ann (Bryan) Pryor. Bessie passed away on August 31, 2020 in Guthrie.
Bessie moved to Guthrie from Borger, Texas in 2000. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Bessie is survived by her son Benny Douglass and wife Delpha, daughter Joyce Elaine Rhoden and husband George, daughter-in-law Patricia, daughter-in-law Karessa; 12 grandchildren, Liza and husband Adam, Theresa, Norman Dale, Darby and wife Georgia, Marci, Shad, Benadett, Tina Kay and husband David Brian, Greg David, Craig, Allen and wife Theresa; 22 great grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Luke, Brittany, Bethany, Dallas, Shaylee, Cory, Ryan, Addison, Madison, Robert Lloyd, Tiffany, Courtney, Nicole, Christopher, Dwain, Kylee, Delaney, Dawn, Elijah, David; and four great great grandchildren Samuel, Noah, Braxton, and Harper. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Dallas, Sr. in 1962, son Dallas, Jr., daughter Mabel Ann, and granddaughter Dawn.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. James Wickersham officiating. Inurnment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Rosary for Bessie will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home.
