Bethie Mae Donihoo
Born: June 18, 1919
Died: May 21, 2016

Bethie Mae Donihoo, 96, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2016. She was born in Clarendon, TX on June 18, 1919 to Willie Beth and Marvin Luther Johnston. Bethie Johnston and Homer Donihoo married on Sept 23, 1933 residing in Haltom City for 65 years. Bethie has been the cornerstone matriarch of her family for many years. She is beloved by her close family and friends and will be greatly missed.

In her early years, Bethie was an avid and successful hobbyist enjoying numerous crafts, ceramics, pottery, bead-work, crochet, painting and more. All who had the good fortune of knowing Bethie over the years will always remember her warm, engaging smile, laughter and zest for life. Bethie enjoyed being on the road with her RV friends and spent her later years enjoying time with them at Red River Resort in Thackerville, OK. Bethie stayed active “winning” at games and connecting with hundreds of friends that she made over the years and as they traveled through Thackerville.

Bethie is preceded in death by her husband, Homer and seven of her nine siblings: Faye Lindsey, Billy Johnston, Fred Johnston, Ora Lee Hopkins, Jewel Nelson, Joe Johnston and Marvin Johnston. Bethie is survived by: Mabel Smith, sister in Fort Worth, TX; Betty Marie Walker, daughter in Haltom City, TX; Dewey A. Donihoo, Sr., son in Bedford, TX and Rick Donihoo, son in Flower Mound, TX; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Smith Memorial Chapel, Guthrie, OK. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 12:00 PM -8:00 PM.
