Vera Louise (Murphy) Dunn-Dick, age 98, a life-long resident of Logan County, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Willow Creek Health Care, Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was born in Mulhall, Oklahoma, to Ora E. and Bessie P. Murphy, April 10, 1919.Vera married Cecil Radford Dunn February 4, 1938.They farmed in Mulhall and then moved to Guthrie in 1952. She was employed by Douglas Grocery for 25 years and later employed at Guthrie Casket Factory. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil on October 20, 1986 and husband, Raymond Dick on October 31, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julie Kephart on March 3, 1970; son-in-law, Virgil Kephart on May 5, 1999; and great-grandson, Austin Dunn on April 2, 2016.
She is survived by her brother, Wayne Murphy; her sister, Elladean Winn, and her five children: Eileen Kephart, Delna Elston (Loren), Robert Dunn (Martha), Sharon Jestes (Lynn), and Larry Dunn. Vera is also survived by her four step-children: Joyce Huffer, Melvin Dick (Treva), Rose Marie McDaniel (Bob), and Doris Beecham (Darrell). She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Gregory Kephart, Sharon Kephart, Steven Elston, Stephanie Estes, Kelly Dunn, Troy Dunn, Michael Jestes, Mark Jestes, Casey Dunn, and Courtney Tauriac, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren as well as one niece and one nephew.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
