Graveside services for Clifford Dean Clymer, 79, of Guthrie will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Summit View Cemetery with the Rev. Dale DePue of the First United Presbyterian Church in Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Clymer was born February 17, 1923 in Crescent to Walter and Berta Clymer. He left us to be with the Lord on June 24, 2002.

Cliff was the eldest of five children. He graduated from Crescent High School in 1940 and went on to join the CCC Camp. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946.

He married his true love Dorothy Braatz in New Castle, Penn. in 1946. In this union they had three sons and moved to Oklahoma in 1962. After moving to Oklahoma, he worked for Gilt Edge Dairy, owned TC's Drive-In for 25 years and later was employed by the Oklahoma Masonic Grand Lodge in Guthrie, where he was granted an Honorary Masonic Award prior to his retirement in 1998.

Cliff was an active member of First United Presbyterian Church in Guthrie, where he served on numerous committees and was a Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy, of the home, and his three sons; Terry Clymer and wife Charolette of Denver, Colo., Donald Clymer and wife Staci of Guthrie and Mark Clymer of Guthrie; two granddaughters, Ashley and Madison; three grandsons, Nickolas and wife Heather of Dallas, and William and Zac Clymer both of Guthrie; two brothers, Leon and wife Leslie of Oklahoma City and Jerry and wife Pat of Arizona; two sisters, Betty Braatz and husband Herman of Pennsylvania and Wilma Weber and husband Jack of Dover, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was surrounded by loving neighbors. Cliff loved his grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Dorothy and was an avid OU Sooner fan. He will be missed for his kindness and gentle loving spirit that he shared with everyone.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Jim Dixson and the staff at Integrated Specialty Hospital in Edmond.

Visitation will take place Tuesday until 8 p.m.
