Graveside services for Helen Rogers Clark, 98, of Guthrie, Okla., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie with Rev. Hersey Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Guthrie.
Helen was born Oct. 20, 1902 in Guthrie, Okla., at that time Guthrie was the capital city of Oklahoma Territory, to William and Minnie (Rogers) Lowe. The Lord called her home Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Cole's Nursing Center in Guthrie.
Helen had lived in Guthrie all of her life. Helen received a Master's Degree from Oklahoma A. & M. She received her Bachelors of Education Degree from Langston University. She taught school in Drumright, Oklahoma and then Page Elementary for many years. She was baptized at First Baptist Church at an early age, and attended there until her health failed her. She loved her church and she loved the Lord.
She married Thomas Clark and he preceded her in death in September of 1953.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one niece, Patricia Bird, Wichita, Kan.; two grand-nieces, Karen Saturday, San Bernadino, Calif., and Deborah Nesbit, Wichita, Kansas; grand-nephew, Ryan Lewis, Wichita, Kan.; and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Vivian.
