Elvaree Clark

Elvaree "LIZ" Clark, 84, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 3, 2010. Elvaree was born February 26, 1926 in Edmond, OK to long-time builder and architect, Thomas William Simpson and Lela (Mills) Simpson. She was nicknamed Liz on the aircraft line of Tinker in 1943 by her coworkers. Liz was raised in Guthrie, OK by her loving mother Lela Simpson. She attended Guthrie High School. She received her electronic training at Tonkawa Radio School as part of the NYA (National Youth Association). Liz enjoyed all of her work experiences and loved her job and wished she could it all again.
Liz married Thomas W. Clark, also an employee at tinker, who passed in 1964. In addition to her aircraft line experiences, Liz worked at various other units including the clean room, where she received many accolades for her service, including a certificate of service among many others on her retirement.
She is preceded in death by one sister Beulah Burdic Hower and three brothers Clifford "Cowboy" Simpson, John Simpson, and Joe Simpson.
Liz truly loved her tenure and devoted patriotism that spanned from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. She cherished all of her colleagues and held each and every friendship dear to her everyday existence. Her surviving children Norma Leigh, Thomas Wayne II, and Kevin Dane invite you to share this beloved send-off and tribute to their dear mother.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Midwest City, OK with Minister Stan Johnson of Frisco, CO officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
At the family’s request, the casket will not be open at any time.
