Hollie Leo Chappell, age 77, of Guthrie, OK, was called home to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was born in Guthrie to the late Leo and Bennie Chappell on May 13, 1937.
Hollie graduated from Guthrie High School in 1955. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and was baptized September 28, 1947. He was a pioneer in the Nursing Home and assisted living industry for 55 years.
He married Mary Lou McCorkle October 23, 1955. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife and four children: Joe Chappell, Jeff Chappell and wife Debbie, Jon Chappell and wife Sharla and Jan Crockett and husband Rusty Crockett. Hollie is survived by 13 grandchildren: Jeffery Chappell, Josh (Sydni) Chappell, Brittney (Ryan) Chandler, Mallory (Trey) Woods, Jordan (Brent) Hodge, Justin (Samantha) Chappell, Corbin Crockett, Jaden (Sarah) Chappell, Savannah Crockett, Landry Chappell, Jacob Chappell, Callen Crockett, and Jillian Chappell. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren: Braylen, Harvest, Emma, Townes, and Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor James Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Noon – 8:00 PM and Thursday, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
