Georgetta Parson "Barker" Castle

Georgetta Parson "Barker" Castle, 73, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away February 8, 2011, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was born to George and Elsie (Kendall) Barker on July 20, 1937, in Anthony, Kansas.

She married Bennie K. Barker, Sr., on August 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1993. To this union five children were born. Four sons, J.W. and Rena Barker of Little Rock, AR; Bennie, Jr. and Christy Barker of Guthrie; Robbie and Donella Barker of Kaw City, OK; Johnie and Rebecca Barker of Louisburg, KS and one daughter Pattie Lynn and Freddie Perrigan of Guthrie. Georgetta married J.B. Castle on August 31, 1995. To this union added four sons Steven and Jeaneae Castle of Crescent, OK; Gary Castle of Blackwell, OK; Paul Castle of Guthrie; Mark and Cindy Castle of Bixby, OK. She is also survived by her brother Bob and Darlene Parson of Charlotte, NC; sister in laws, Donna Parson of Greely, CO; Wilma Barker of Turon, KS; Peggy Setwert of Wichita, KS; Laverne Barker of McLoud, OK; Vonda Badsen if Oklahoma City, OK; Doyle and Merna Castle of Guthrie and brother in law Lawrence and Carolyn McCurdy of Guthrie. She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, brother Everett Lee Parson, infant sister Juanita Mae Parson, Grandson Jared Yost and Great Grandson Nathan Unruh.

Gerogetta worked as a nurse for 33 years, was a member of Guthrie Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star and several different Square Dance Clubs.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Tavis and all the nurses and care givers of Logan Hospital for the loving care you showed our mother.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Monday, February 14, 2011, at Community Church, with Pastor Bill Williams and Brother Don Riepe officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday 9:00 am till 8:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to Community Church, Guthrie Christian Church, Muscular Dystrophy Assn./SMA Research or American Diabetes Assn.
