W.R. "Bill" Case, 89, passed away February 18, 2009 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, OK. He was born January 29, 1920 in Bristow, OK to Newt and Susie Case. He was on the Guthrie Fire Department for fourteen years. After retiring Bill worked for the school system. He loved to work in his garden and go fishing. He loved to joke and enjoyed being around people. Bill loved all his family especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, six siblings, son Charles Case, and his wife Ethel in 2008. He is survived by his five children, Richard Case and wife Janice of Oklahoma City, OK, Jim Case and wife Karen of Guthrie, Pauline Whitaker of Guthrie, Ronnie Case and wife Jan of Edmond, OK, and Mary Jane Casey and husband Tim of Guthrie; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by family and friends and all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2009 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie. Visitation will be on Sunday, 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 5400 North Grand Boulevard, Suite 255, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
