Funeral services are pending for Delbert Carter, 67, of Guthrie, Okla. under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Guthrie. Delbert died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services for Rev. Delbert Gene Carter, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 1999 at First United Methodist Church in Guthrie, Okla. Rev. Jene Miller will officiate, assisted by Rev. Terry Martindale. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Guthrie. Delbert was born April 9, 1932 in Turpin, Okla. to F.M. and Ola Mae (Williams) Carter. He died Dec. 9, 1999 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Delbert moved to Guthrie in 1974 from Idabel, Okla. He was a retired Methodist minister and a member of the Methodist Conference. He became pastor of his first church in 1952 and pastored churches in Idabel, Grove and Guthrie. He was the writer of two published books and attended Phillips University and Oklahoma City University.
Delbert married Kay Tryon on July 22, 1952 in Guymon, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; one son, Larry, and wife Cris Carter, of Guthrie; three daughters, Debbie, and husband Terry Holcomb, of Edmond, Okla., Rebecca and husband Steve Adams, of Lawton, Okla., Donna and husband Stacy Russell, of Guthrie; one brother, Bill Carter; one sister, LaDonna Batterman of Guymon; seven grandsons, Jeremy Gamble, Tucker Holcomb, Danny Adams, Travis Adams, Zach Carter, Josh Russell and Jeff Russell. The casket will not be open at any time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skyline Ministries Jets Program, c/o First United Methodist Church, 223 E. Noble, Guthrie, Okla. 73044.
