Funeral services for Doris Evelyn Carpenter, 85, of Guthrie, Okla., were held at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2001 , at First United Methodist Church of Guthrie with Rev. Terry N. Martindale officiating. Burial was in Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, directed by Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
Doris was born Dec. 22, 1915, in Benedict, Kan., to Elmer and Fay Green. She died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie; Guthrie Chapter #12 Orderof the Eastern Star; Chairman of the Advisory Board of Guthrie Rainbow Assembly #22 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls; and the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Carpenter and Beverly of St. George Island, Fla. and Gary Carpenter of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Kathy Parrott and Bob of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
