Keith Camerer

Born: July 24, 1927
Died: December 07, 2010

Keith Emory Camerer, 83, passed away December 7, 2010. He was born July 24, 1927 to Ray and Ellen Camerer.

Keith grew up in Guthrie, OK where he attended school. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1945, then joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII.

Following his service, he attended Oklahoma A&M and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He played baseball while at A&M and was a die-hard Aggie.

He met Ruth Carpenter and they married on September 13, 1954.

They lived in Oklahoma City, OK, Fresno, CA, and Charlotte, NC. Keith worked for Traveler’s Insurance for 22 years.

Keith and Ruth moved to Guthrie in 1976. He was a partner in Jelsma Abstract for 21 years until his retirement in 1997.

Keith was active in the First Christian Church and enjoyed working in the community.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth of the home; one son Brad Camerer and wife Marilee of Northville, MI; one brother Darrel Camerer and wife Charlene of Tulsa, OK; two grandsons Elliott and Alec Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2010 at First Christian Church with Dr. Dennis E. Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 402 East Noble Avenue, Guthrie, OK 73044.

Visitation will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
