Edward E. Brown
May 22, 1932 - September 19, 2012

Edward E. (Ed) Brown, age 80, passed away September 19, 2012 in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born May 22, 1932 in Sacramento, California to Edward C. and Macie A. (Kirk) Brown.

He married Norvalea Cox on January 3, 1954, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Guthrie.

Ed graduated from Guthrie High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Ed was Vice President of Evans Home Furnishings and retired in 2003 after 48 years.

Ed lived in Guthrie most of his life, he was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a Deacon. He was a hard worker, loved spending time with his family, Fly Fishing and working in his garden.

Ed is survived by his wife Norvalea of the home in Guthrie, three children, son Brian and Christina Brown of Guthrie, two daughters, Cheryl Brown of Guthrie and Brenda and John Coalwell of Broken Arrow. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Scott and Laura Stephens, Kyle and Leah Stevens, and Brittney, Macey, Jeremy, Emily and Chloe Brown. Also four sisters and two brothers, Carl and Roberta Brown of Albuquerque, NM, Allen and Sheri Brown of Guthrie, Carolyn and Cecil Hamilton of Harrah, Mary Jo and Delbert Maker of Guthrie and Martha Evans of Guthrie, numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, September 24, 2012, at the First Southerm Baptist Church, 202 E. Noble, Guthrie with Rev. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. The casket will not be open at any time.

Memorials may be made to Gideons, c/o Hayes Funeral Home, 117 E. Noble, Guthrie, OK 73044.
