Peter F. Bono

Born: December 12, 1929
Died: February 17, 2011

Graveside memorial services for Peter F. Bono, 81, Guthrie, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tues. Feb. 22, 2011 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, with Father Robert Wood officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Peter was born Dec. 12, 1929 in Frankfort, NY to Samuel T. Bono & Carmella M. Frank. He died Feb 17, 2011 in Oklahoma City after a brief illness.

Peter attended Frankfort schools, served in the US Army's German occupational forces 1950 to 1952, and earned a BS degree in 1957 from the American University in Washington, DC, where he also met and married Rosalyn C. Bradford the same year. The couple moved to Oklahoma City in 1963 and then to the Guthrie area in 1969.

Peter retired as plant manager of the Safeway Bread Bakery in 1988 after 32 years with the company. He was an avid bowler and beekeeper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph P. Bono and Dominick S. Bono.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosalyn, of the home in Guthrie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom & Debbie Bono, Corpus Christi, TX, David & Ruby Bono, Bellevue, WA, and Chris & Jennifer Bono, Edmond; daughter and son-in-law, Cherie & Randy Hamilton, Guthrie; nine grandchildren, Eric, Cody, Ryan & Michael Hamilton, Guthrie; Douglas Bono, Bellevue; Alyssa Bono, Edmond; Christie Knoll, Jason Cox and Codie Rowe, all of Corpus Christi; 2 sisters-in-law, Louise Bono, McLeane, VA, and Cyndi Bono, Vienna, VA, and countless other relatives.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or other charitable organization.
