Fredrick "Fred" Alvin Beeler
January 25, 1940 - February 13, 2016
Fred Alvin Beeler, age 76 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away February 13, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on January 25, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Paul and Dorothy (Feyerhern) Beeler.
Fred graduated from Poteau High School. He attended Florida State University, Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas Little Rock. Fred retired as a meteorologist with National Weather Service after 33 years. His love of weather radar sent him for the next 19 years to Tulsa International Airport. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1970 and previously lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He married Leona Dear on January 16, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The love for his family was beyond measure and he never dreamed he could love someone more than his kids until the grandkids. PaPa Fred's life was filled with teaching them to hunt and fish as his father had taught him. He also loved a good game of tennis and his bowling league. Fred lived a full life doing all the things he loved and having his family near him.
PaPa Fred is survived by the love of his life Leona, 4 children, Michael Beeler of Yukon, Jill Ortega and husband Jeffrey of Guthrie, Cyndi Brantley and husband Dennis of Guthrie and Tiffany Jimenez and husband Daniel of Mankato, MN, 2 step children Alan Ford, Jr. and wife Beth of Guthrie and Robyn Smith and husband Steve of Guthrie. He is also survived by his sister Diane Foreman of Poteau, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, 1 step son Floyd Ford and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
