Violet Ernestine Arnold
Born: January 06, 1921
Died: December 21, 2008

Violet Ernestine Arnold, 87, of Highlands Ranch, CO, died Sunday, December 21, 2008. She was born in Guthrie, OK on January 6, 1921 to Wade Hampton and Teresa Magdalene (Meagher) Jenkins. Vi graduated from Guthrie High School in 1939 and married Walter Lee Arnold in Guthrie on September 2, 1942. They made their home in Guthrie and she was a legal secretary, working in the Oklahoma State Legislature in Oklahoma City, OK for many years. She accepted Christ at an early age and lived for Him each day of her life.

She is survived by two daughters Dr. Cheryl Arnold of Highlands Ranch, CO and Teresa Haskins and husband Dr. Robert Haskins of Chanute, KS; seven adored grandchildren Laurie Ward and husband Clayton of Chanute, KS, Brian Cornish and wife Karen of Olathe, KS, Blake Cornish and wife Holly of Los Angeles, CA, Chad Cornish and wife Melissa of Lampe, MO, Brad Merrill of Highlands Ranch, CO, Seth Merrill and wife Liz of Denver, CO, and Grant Merrill of Broomfield, CO; six great-grandchildren Madolyn Merrill, Emilee Ward, Molly Ward, William Butch Cornish, Madeline Violet Cornish, and Orville Cornish; one sister Edith Oswald of Guthrie; and one brother Manford Jenkins and wife Thelma of Guthrie.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Memorials in Vi’s memory may be made to Porter Hospice at the Johnson Center, 5020 East Arapahoe Road, Centennial, CO 80122 or the Cherry Street Youth Center, 710 North Forest, Chanute, KS 66720.

Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
