James Antonoff

James Antonoff, former New York resident and retired businessman, passed away on December 4, 2012 after battling pancreatic cancer. Arrangements are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home in Guthrie.

In addition to being a family man, Jim was a WWII Veteran, Penn State University Alumnus, avid golfer, bridge player and reader. He loved all aspects of food from procuremenmt and preparation to fine dining.

He is survived by his wife, Marlys Sifers Antonoff, of their home in Lenexa KS; five children: Gale (Elliott) Mason, Broken Arrow OK; Kim Antonoff, Bloomfield CT; Steven (Elizabeth) Antonoff, Redondo Beach CA; Kristen Sifers, Lakewood CA; and Sherri (Jason) McCollough, Guthrie OK. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Herb (Jessica) Mason, Olathe KS; Jeremy (Karly) Mason, Broken Arrow OK; Austin McCaul, Stillwater OK; Lee Ann (John) Popiolek, Cherry Hill NJ; Diane Anselmo, Redondo Beach CA; and Tyler McCollough, Guthrie OK; three great-grandchildren: Seth Mason, Olathe KS; Reese Mason, Olathe KS; and Robin Popiolek, Cherry Hill NJ; two sister-in-laws: Cheryl (David) Whitfield, Chattanooga TN and Betty Lazarus Antonoff, West Palm Beach Gardens FL; and several nieces, great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jim's life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Hayes Funeral Home. During this time people are asked to reminisce and share (or have read) their fondest memories of Jim.

A private burial will be held at Summit View Cemetery.

Prior to his death, Jim suggested any memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society-Research, 6525 N. Meridian, Suite 110, Olahoma City OK 73116 or Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City MO 64114.

The casket will not be open at anytime.
