Aliene Anderson

Aliene Anderson passed away Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2014, at the age of 93. She was born on January 31, 1921, in Crescent, Oklahoma, to Frank and Gracie Rice. She was raised and attended school in Crescent. She then moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma.
As a long-time resident of Guthrie, she was blessed with a rewarding life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and business woman. She took pride in her retail career and eventually owned her own dress shop, Powell’s Ladies Wear, for many years. She was a loyal member of First United Methodist Church of Guthrie and thoroughly enjoyed her church and Sunday school family. She was a wonderful cook, making all her meals from scratch and she was famous for her pies. She was a competitive card player, loved to dance and was always "dressed to the nines."
Those who mourn her passing are her son, Bobby Thompson of Guthrie, Oklahoma and his wife, Bobbi; her granddaughter, Bobbi Jan Smith of St. Maries, Idaho; her two great-granddaughters, Kristin Burns of St. Maries, Idaho; and Kelly Heath of Moscow, Idaho; and a special blessing of her two great-great grandsons, Bridger Burns and Wyley Heath. She is also survived by her brother, Clayton “Curly” Rice, of Fremont, California and her sister, Dean McMillan Kirsch of Franklin, Kentucky, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Aliene is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon “Andy” Anderson; her parents and her brother, Wayne Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Guthrie. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
